As part of Thuraya’s ongoing efforts to upgrade Thuraya’s services and ensure stable and reliable network performance at all times, they are upgrading the existing Thuraya 2 Voice Gateway to Next Generation Voice (NGV) Gateway. As a result, the voice and packet services could be interrupted for approximately 25 minutes on 27 February from 23:00 GMT, upon the commencement of migration under Phase 1. Thuraya assures that the voice services will be immediately recovered, while the packet services (from the selected beams) will be out of service until Phase 2 is completed on 14 March.
Note: The beams selected for Phase 1 activity are non-active/unused for packet services. The activity duration covers pre-migration, migration, post migration and system monitoring. We highly recommend that the customer device is power cycled (restarted/rebooted) after the activity, in order to ensure continuous network connectivity.
