The availability of the Thuraya 3 satellite over the asia region is affected since April 17.
Thuraya have restored the service in this area for some countries by extending the coverage of the Thuraya 2 satellite. The service recovery effort for the Asia region is still ongoing. The Thuraya satellite service over Australia and Japan region remain affected and unavailable for an unforeseeable future.
There is no official statement at this time.
As far as we know, no restoration has been carried out on Thuraya 3 satellite and it looks very unlikely. We seem to think this will be resolved by a full replacement satellite.
