Iridium Mail app discontinued

Unfortunately, Iridium discontinued its free mail app with little warning on September 13, 2025, without offering a replacement.

However, there are alternatives, even if they are not free:

  • XGate comes closest to the previous user interface of Iridium’s mail app. This is not surprising, as Iridium used the XGate code as a basis. The software/app is available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.
Cost: $25 per month plus a $50 activation fee (no charge with an annual contract)

  • UUPlus is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Cost: $35 per month, with a 15% discount for annual contracts.

  • AirMail is officially only available for Windows. On MacOS, you can use Parallels or VirtualBox. AirMail requires membership in the SailMail Association for maritime communication.
    Membership costs $275 per year.

  • MailA Sail offers a whole suite of communication and service tools from email to GRIB weather data with teleport-it. The software is available for Windows.
